Don't let water or spills sit, since moisture can damage a manufactured-wood core over time, and avoid abrasive pads or harsh, solvent-based cleaners that can mark the finish. Skip wax or polish, which can leave shiny patches, and wipe the gold hardware with a dry cloth to keep it clear of marks.
