Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth, following the grain. Wipe spills promptly so they don't sit on the finish, and skip harsh or abrasive cleaners. Solid wood reacts to its surroundings, so keep the room's humidity steady and the piece out of long stretches of direct sun so the oak tone stays even. Use mats or coasters under anything wet or hot to protect the top.
